Detailed garden structures such as pergolas and gazebos require only the best stains and sealers. Improper application or using low end products can lead to endless hours of sanding and other needless labour.
A common myth is that brand new wood has to go through a drying process before any stain or sealer can be applied. This was true several years ago, however, there are many new wood products on the market that allow the wood to thoroughly dry as well as offering full protection. If the wood isn't properly treated shortly after construction, the UV rays will begin to discolour your wood, thus creating a more labour intensive project than needed.

Over the last twenty or so years, we have serviced a large number of pergolas, gazebos, awnings, house siding, arbours and just about any exterior wood structure that you can imagine. In most cases, the biggest challenge is the cleaning process. Using a pressure washer at a great force of 4000 psi, while holding the vibrating wand steady up and over the shoulder height, all while trying to be safe and do a great job, is no easy task.
It's imperative to do all the cleaning properly, otherwise no stain or paint will ever last longer than a season. We have devised a routine along with certain techniques, and use very specialized (often homemade) tools to get the job done with amazing accuracy and dramatically minimize discomfort. In other words, no matter how complex the structure is, we can always achieve a great result.

Many of our clients hired us to fix the problems that previous companies have caused. Sadly, many of these occurrences happened within the first year after the project was completed...
Below is one of many examples of this:
Dan,
Thank you for the excellent work that you did to bring my deck back from the ugly state it was in as a result of an incompetent deck stain company. A prior deck stain and repair “expert” had refinished my deck the year before and it began to show problem areas only a few months later. The owner had promised on numerous occasions to return and fix this issue, but he never did. Your company was highly recommended to me by a relative and you sure lived up to claims of wonderful work and exceptional customer service.
After our initial meeting, I knew that you understood exactly what I was hoping to accomplish with my deck. You even pointed out many rotting stair risers and pickets which needed replacing. How wonderful to have a stain refinisher that also repairs these problem areas.
I look forward to your company taking care of the needs of my deck for many years to come. Gloria B. - Forest HillRebuilt Deck Staircase, Removed Peeling Stain, Refinished Deck
